Remember – It’s Business
When dealing with any salesperson, remember that you’re just talking to another person. However, that person likely has a quota to meet or has a commission-only sales job and needs to seal the deal to earn a paycheck.
It’s not personal; it’s just business. Any sales interaction- whether pitched or not- is strictly business. You should understand this fact and learn to leave emotion at the door in sales.
Remove Guilt

Have a Plan

Know what you want to purchase, what you’re willing to spend or sign up for, and be firm on those boundaries.
A simple planned response to keep in your verbal toolbox could sound something like, “Thank you, but I’m not ready to make any purchasing decisions right now.”
Reiterate Your Response
If you have already declined their offer and made your response clear, a good salesperson will drop the subject and leave you be.
